PublicServiceCareers.org is your source for professional jobs in the new public sector - government, nonprofits and NGO's, consulting, and academia - and for advice and information about public service careers.

In early 2006, APPAM, ASPA and NASPAA began discussing the creation of a new resource on the Internet to encourage and sustain public service careers. At that time, APPAM and ASPA had their own employment listing services, and NASPAA was considering whether to launch another. The three organizations quickly realized that through collaboration they could create a much more effective means for promoting careers in the field. By pooling their resources, the organizations also would be able to make a significant contribution to increasing the visibility of public service and the educational programs in schools of public administration and public policy that prepare talented individuals for careers.

APPAM, ASPA and NASPAA signed a landmark agreement to create PublicServiceCareers.org on July 27, 2006. The first component of the new website to launch was its employment listing service, which became active in early October 2006. APPAM immediately closed its own listing service, and ASPA closed its service in early December. Personnel from the three associations worked to design the remainder of the website with the goal of launching the completed version as soon as possible in 2007.
