![]() | Chip Reid Graduate Degree: MPA Current Position: News Correspondent, NBC Chip Reid is a Washington, D.C.-based news correspondent for NBC News, where he reports for "The Today Show,"" NBC Nightly News," and MSNBC. Before entering the news industry, Reid practiced law as a Counsel to the US Senate Judiciary Committee and at Kirkpatrick & Lockhart in D.C. Before joining NBC Reid reported in D.C. for ABC affiliate WJLA, and Fox's WTTG. He spent the next four years in NBC's Washington bureau, reporting extensively on President Clinton's investigation and impeachment. During the 2000 election Reid spent six months embedded with the Gore campaign. Reid has reported from many hotspots overseas, with assignments in Afghanistan, Israel, Uzbekistan and Egypt after September 11th and most recently, embedded with the 3rd Battalion, Fifth Marines, in Kuwait and Iraq. Reid reported for the NBC News Special "The Death and Funeral of Ronald Wilson Reagan," which won the News Emmy in 2005. Reid received his Masters in Public Affairs from Princeton University.
