Company Overview
Working with private and public sector partners, Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC) seeks to forge resilient and inclusive communities of opportunity in urban and rural communities across America – great places to live, work, visit, do business and raise families. We provide low-cost loan capital, grant support, training and technical assistance that improves the quality of life of low-income individuals throughout the country.
People who work at LISC are passionate about what they do. We believe in community action, local solutions and being an integral part of the change we hope to make in the places where we live and serve. More than 350 people work for LISC and our affiliates, the National Equity Fund and the New Markets Support Company and we are located in 35 cities around the nation. We come from a spectrum of academic and professional backgrounds: finance, program development, social work, engineering, legal, research and many others.

Notable Accomplishments / Recognition
LISC equips struggling communities with the capital, program strategy and know-how to become places where people can thrive. It combines corporate, government and philanthropic resources. Since 1980, LISC has invested more than $20 billion to build or rehab 400,500 affordable homes and apartments and develop 66.8 million square feet of retail, community and educational space.
