- Full Professor - College of Public Policy
Description
Provide academic, strategic, and administrative leadership for the Master of Global Health Policy (MGHP) program in advancing evidence-based, policy-relevant, and globally engaged education and research, aligned with Qatar National Vision 2030 and relevant international accreditation standards.
Lead the continued development, review, and enhancement of the MGHP curriculum, including oversight of program quality assurance, accreditation-related processes, and continuous improvement.
Strengthen and expand partnerships with government entities, international organizations, health institutions, and other relevant stakeholders to support teaching, research, and policy engagement.
Teach graduate-level courses aligned with the MGHP Program Learning Outcomes (PLOs), including areas such as global health policy analysis, health systems, health economics, policy processes, culturally responsive communication, and ethical public-service-oriented leadership.
Supervise graduate student capstone projects, master’s theses, and independent research in areas relevant to global health policy.
Maintain an internationally recognized research profile in global health policy, health systems, health governance, health economics, or related fields.
Lead and secure externally funded research projects, including national and international grants.
Publish in high-impact journals and contribute to regional and global debates in global health policy and public policy.
Promote applied, policy-relevant research that informs decision-making and contributes to addressing health challenges in Qatar, the region, and globally.
Mentor junior faculty and contribute to faculty development, research capacity building, and academic leadership within the College.
Disseminate research findings through publications, policy reports, conferences, public engagement, and scholarly presentations to enhance the visibility and reputation of HBKU and the College.
Perform other reasonable duties as assigned by the Dean or the University.
Requirements
PhD in Global Health Policy, Public Policy, Public Health, Health Economics, or a closely related field.
Academic qualifications, scholarly standing, and professional experience commensurate with appointment at the rank of Full Professor.
Distinguished record of high-impact publications, externally funded research, graduate teaching excellence, and the ability to bridge research, teaching, and policy practice.
Recognized expertise in global health systems, health policy, health governance, health economics, and/or applied policy analysis.
12+ years of relevant full-time university teaching, research, and academic leadership experience, with evidence of sustained professional maturity, productivity, and impact.
Demonstrated excellence in teaching, student supervision, curriculum development, and program leadership at the graduate level.
Evidence of active participation in the scholarly and academic affairs of a university and/or relevant professional associations.
Sustained portfolio of scholarly achievement, including funded research grants, peer-reviewed publications, and other scholarly contributions, comparable to peers at leading research universities.
Evidence of a strong regional and international reputation within the discipline.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse groups, cultures, and communities.
Proven ability to develop networks, collaborations, and partnerships within HBKU and with national and international partner institutions in teaching, research, and policy engagement.
Strong track record of engaging and collaborating with policy stakeholders, government entities, international organizations, and health-sector institutions at national, regional, and international levels.
Knowledge of Arabic is an advantage.
